Tactical BootsDid you know that choosing the wrong Tactical Boot can lead to combat ineffectiveness, which can lower your unit's ability to maintain current operating environment tempo and focus? Blisters, wet or cold feet can potentially lead to serious health issues. The more comfortable, dry and warm your Tactical Boots keep your feet, the more effective a soldier can be and focused on the job at hand. When you walk, the forces borne by your feet are about one and one-half times your body weight. When you're running, it can be three or four times your weight. When you jump, forces can exceed eight times your body weight. Your two feet strike the ground a combined total of about 1,800 times in the average mile of walking. Any health symptoms that are related to foot problems will get worse as the day goes on because your feet become more stressed as the day goes on. We have on each of our feet over 7,000 nerve endings, 28 bones, 19 muscles, 107 ligaments, 31 tendons, 30 joint & 125,000 sweat glands! Twenty five percent of the bones in our body are in your feet. If any of these bones are misaligned, our entire body could be affected. You might not even feel that you have a foot problem but it can be causing knee problems, hip or low-back problems, shoulder and neck problems and even headaches or stomachaches. Our Soldiers and Marines complain of foot ailments such as in-grown toenails, athlete's foot, blisters, and calluses just to name a few. We know that most times during training or combat there is no time to properly care for your feet, but having the proper Tactical Boots and socks will help reduce some of their ailments. For example: Regularly replace your socks - Use a foot powder regularly - Try to keep your feet dry (choose a water resistant tactical boot) - Replace your tactical boots as often as needed, worn-out boots are not good for your feet - Trim your nails short and straight across - Be sure that your desert boots fit properly - Wear insoles or pads in your tactical boots for more support. When buying your tactical boots (desert boots) make sure you pay attention to the following tips on how to choose the perfect tactical boot. PROPER FITTING OF MILITARY FOOTWEAR • Determine the fit under the arch. There should be no wrinkles under the arch. • Ball of foot rests on the widest part of the sole. • Determine the width of the tactical boot. No tightness or fullness of the leather. • Determine the tactical boot length. There should be 1/2 inch between the end of the longest toe and the end of the boot.
