The black Nike SFB (Special Field Boot) is a tactical boot and an athletic boot at the same time. You enjoy the benefits of Nike's athletic shoe design while protecting your feet from the environment of the tactical world.
Nike Boot Features
- Little or no break-in required
- Keeps dirt and sand out
- 1/3 less the weight of traditional tactical boots
- Puncture and laceration resistant
- Allows your feet to breathe with the ventilation zones
- Sockliner inserts with air holes and pads at the heel and forefoot
- Quick-drying material: polyester and synthetic leather
- Enables your feet to move naturally and still grip the ground
The first thing you will notice with this Nike SFB is how lightweight these can be. A men's size 9 weighs 15.9 oz. That compares to 1/3 less than the weight of traditional tactical boots. Reviewers often report it's like wearing athletic shoes if not lighter footwear. Nike ensured this by making their entire tactical Nike boot lightweight: from the forefoot shielding, to the rubber midsole, all the way down to the outsole.
You will also notice how well your feet can breathe in the Nike Special Field Boot. The polyester shell around the ankle and top of the foot contribute to maintaining a comfortable inner temperature. Ventillation zones near the arch, and air holes in the sockliner inserts also allow warm air to escape. With the warm air released, these boots keep sand and dirt from getting inside.
Protects Your Feet
The Nike SFBs are puncture and laceration resistant. Even though these black Nike boots are lightweight and breathable, they are tactical. This is where the athletic shoe becomes a military boot. The synthetic leather footbed is protected with Kevlar, giving your feet twice the protection. Moreover, a forefoot shielding directly underneath adds protection to your toes and the balls of your feet.
Made of polyester and synthetic leather, your feet and ankles are surrounded by moisture-wicking material. If ever submerged in water, the black Nike Special Field Boots will not soak up a lot of water. After submersion, water is efficiently released from the ventilation zones and air holes in the sockliner inserts. Your feet will not feel soaked.
Nike took their Nike Free technology and applied it to the military Nike boot. This unique design puts less fatigue on your feet, and provides a smoother heel-to-toe transition. The footbed has less constriction around your foot while conforming to the form of your foot. The midsole is cushioned and flexible. On the outside, the synthetic leather overlays are also flexible allowing any maneuver your need on your feet, while still providing ankle support.
Grips the Ground
Lightweight and breathable, the black Nike boot can grip the ground. Extra traction is given to the forefont lugs, heels, and toes. The heels and toes have reversed edges to give you that extra aggressive tread. You have an advantage when running uphill or maneuvering downhill. The Nike Special Field Boots have even been tested to grip well in water.
